(Psalm 124:1-8)
1 “Had it not been the Lord who was on our side,”
Let Israel say,
2 “Had it not been the Lord who was on our side
When people rose up against us,
3 Then they would have swallowed us alive,
When their anger was kindled against us;
4 Then the waters would have flooded over us,
The stream would have swept over our souls;
5 Then the raging waters would have swept over our souls.”
6 Blessed be the Lord,
Who has not given us to be torn by their teeth.
7 Our souls have escaped like a bird from the trapper’s snare;
The snare is broken and we have escaped.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
TODAY'S THOUGHTS AND MEDITATION:
Let Israel say,
2 “Had it not been the Lord who was on our side
When people rose up against us,
3 Then they would have swallowed us alive,
When their anger was kindled against us;
4 Then the waters would have flooded over us,
The stream would have swept over our souls;
5 Then the raging waters would have swept over our souls.”
6 Blessed be the Lord,
Who has not given us to be torn by their teeth.
7 Our souls have escaped like a bird from the trapper’s snare;
The snare is broken and we have escaped.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
TODAY'S THOUGHTS AND MEDITATION:
As believers, we are on God's side, and we should live like we are, no matter what we are going through. God never promises us that we won't face times of trouble, but God does promise to help us through our times of trouble, whether it is eradicating the entire issue, or giving us wisdom, strength, comfort, peace and joy while going through it. And while He is helping us, we can witness and experience His power, love and faithfulness! As well, as we continue to call upon the Lord in all circumstances, and allow Him to work in us and through us, we will be witnesses to those around us, demonstrating the benefits and blessings of having a close, personal relationship with the Lord.
