(Psalm 28:1-9) To You, Lord, I call;
My rock, do not be deaf to me,For if You are silent to me,
I will become like those who go down to the pit.
2 Hear the sound of my pleadings when I cry to You for help,
When I raise my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.
3 Do not drag me away with the wicked
And with those who practice injustice,
Who speak peace with their neighbors,
While evil is in their hearts.
4 Give back to them according to their work and according to the evil of their practices;
Give back to them according to the work of their hands;
Repay them what is due them.
5 Because they do not regard the works of the Lord
Nor the deeds of His hands,
He will tear them down and not build them up.
6 Blessed be the Lord,
Because He has heard the sound of my pleading.
7 The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart triumphs,
And with my song I shall thank Him.
8 The Lord is their strength,
And He is a refuge of salvation to His anointed.
9 Save Your people and bless Your inheritance;
Be their shepherd also, and carry them forever.
TODAY'S THOUGHTS AND MEDITATION:
Even if we don't feel God's presence or if we think He isn't hearing us, we have to know that He is present, because He is omnipresent. And He does hear us, because He is omniscient and loves us. Do we think that God came in flesh to suffer and die for all sins - to be able to offer salvation to everyone - only then to ignore us and leave us hanging? Or do we think that God is too busy and unable to help us in various circumstances? He can and will help us because He is omnipotent and sovereign.
Like David, we can go to the Lord for all our issues and questions, no matter how big or how little. Jesus has said, "You don't have because you don't ask." As well, like David, we need to remember to thank the Lord for when He does help us, for being our strength and wisdom. As the loving Shepherd, the Lord does hear us when we cry out to Him, and He will come to our rescue!
