(GENESIS 2:1-3) Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. 2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
TODAY'S THOUGHTS AND MEDITATION:
God is our example to follow. Here we see that God completed His work. And then He took one day to rest. We were not created to just have leisure time, we were actually created to work. As well, we were not meant to be workaholics, we were created as social beings; and as such, we need to set aside time to nurture our relationships.
God sanctified this day of rest. It is a day that is set apart and declared "holy", in order to spend time reflecting and honoring God. It is a day for us to be thankful for everything the Lord has done, is doing and will do. Everything we have is because of Him. So, it is a day to really focus on our relationships, not just with each other, but with God.
